Water + Stain Resistant Tech

OZALIA sheepskin boots have been pretreated to repel moisture and protect against staining so that they can better handle surprise drizzles and life's little spills. While these boots are ready to wear right out of the box, we want to help you keep them looking like new and to increase their longevity. Below are our recommended care and cleaning tips along with a customer FAQ to help keep your new boots looking their best.
.
WATER AND STAIN RESISTANCE
A few drops on your OZALIA's won't hurt them, but they aren't meant for rain, snow, or any large amount of liquid. While OZALIA boots have been pre-treated to repel moisture and protect against stains, large amounts of liquid or extended exposure to liquid will eventually soak through. The pre-treatment will also eventually wear off over time so we recommend cleaning and applying a suede and leather protector (we recommend 3M's Scotchguard) every few months. See below for cleaning instructions.
.
KEEP YOUR BOOTS LOOKING AS GOOD AS NEW
Your new OZALIA's should be cared for and cleaned, so blot—don't wipe—spills and stains right away with a clean dry cloth. And use a suede and leather protector to maintain their look. We recommend that you use 3M's Scotchguard to extend the life of the boots and to maintain their water resistance over time. It should be re-applied every few months.

CUSTOMER FAQ
.
CAN I WEAR MY OZALIA'S IN THE RAIN?
You can, but we don't recommend it. They are not waterproof, and water can seep in through the seams. If water splashes on your boots they will be okay, but you should opt for waterproof shoes when it rains.
.
CAN I WEAR MY OZALIA'S IN THE SNOW?
It is not recommended to wear OZALIA boots in the snow. They are not waterproof, and water can seep in through the seams. These boots are fine to wear when it's lightly snowing or if you're just going to and from your car, but you shouldn't wear them in a blizzard or if you suspect you may have to trudge through inches of powder.
.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY OZALIA'S?
Because these boots are pretreated, they are ready to wear right out of the box. However, you should clean and re-treat them every couple of months to extend their longevity and keep them looking their best. See below for our recommended cleaning instructions:
.
STEP 1
Allow any dirt to dry. If you don't do this you will only end up washing the dirt and grime into the leather.
.
STEP 2
Using either a suede brush or a new and clean toothbrush with strong bristles, brush your boots in a circular motion to remove surface grime and dirt.
.
STEP 3
When the boots are clean, spray them lightly with a leather/suede protector. We recommend 3M Scotchguard. Take note not to spray too much, you don't want to soak the boots. It's best to spray 2 or 3 light coats, allowing the boots to dry in the shade between coats.
.
This process should repeated every couple of months.
.
IF THE MATERIAL IS PRETREATED, WHY DO I STILL NEED TO CONTINUE TO TREAT THEM?
OZALIA boots have been pretreated to repel moisture and protect against staining for up to 6 months of wear. The treatment will wear off over time, especially when rubbed against other materials or surfaces. You will need to re-apply protection, so we recommend using 3M Scotchguard as directed above.
